There’s something special about having the Super Bowl right here in our backyard in Santa Clara, California. The energy was electric, but as the owner of Marketing Powerhouse, I wasn’t just watching the scoreboard, I was watching the commercial breaks, marketing strategies and the ads oh the ads.
Here is my recap of what we learned from the Super Bowl 60 marketing wars:
1. AI is no longer the “Special Guest” 🤖 Last year, AI ads felt like sci-fi. This year? It was the engine. From personalized QR codes to ads that felt like they were talking directly to us, the brands that won were the ones using tech to create a real connection, not just a gimmick.
2. The Return of Real Humor 😂 After a few years of “heavy” ads, it felt good to laugh again. We saw a major shift back to slapstick and self-deprecation. People don’t want to be preached to; they want to be entertained.
3. Community over Celebrity 🤝 The ads that stayed with me weren’t just the ones with the biggest movie stars. It was the brands that leaned into “local” vibes and shared values. In a world of global digital noise, being authentic and grounded still wins every single time.
💡 You don’t need a Super Bowl budget to have a Super Bowl impact.
Whether you’re a local Bay Area business or a national brand, the secret sauce is the same: Know your audience, be authentic, and don’t be afraid to be a little different!!
At the end of the day, marketing is just people talking to people. We’re proud to be doing that right here in the heart of Silicon Valley.
